New Taipei City 

• New Taipei City completely surrounds Taipei and is bordered by Keelung City to the northeast, Yilan County to the southeast and Taoyuan to the southwest

• Approximately 20,000 factories are scattered around the city across five separate major industrial parks 
• Good percentage of the economy made up from high-technology industries and is one of the leading areas in the world for IT product production volume

Keelung City 

• A major port city (Taiwan’s second largest seaport behind Kaohsiung) to the east of Taipei 
• Shipbuilding and luxury yacht production is one of the city’s major industries 
• Taiwan’s only fully oil-fired power plant located in the city 
• Home to a number of educational establishments including the National Taiwan Ocean University and Chungyu Institute of Technology 

Taoyuan City 

• Due to the ease of commute to the Taipei metropolitan this area has seen the fastest population growth in the whole of Taiwan 
• Home to a number of industrial parks and the headquarters of many high-technology companies (over 200 of Taiwan's top 500 manufacturing companies have factories here) 
• Major high-tech companies with factories in Taoyuan City include HTC, Quanta and AU Optronics
