A guide to office space in London Waterloo

Waterloo is a district in Central London, and part of the Borough of Lambeth. The area is also part of the business improvement district known as Waterloo Quarter. The district has been charged with the goal of making Waterloo a better place to do business. They work with businesses to help secure funding in an effort to improve the area’s economic and physical environment. They also help companies work in partnership with organisations such as the Council and Transport for London. In recent years the district has seen many outdated office buildings refurbished to cater for the growing demand from businesses in the area and young professionals looking to move into the inner city. Waterloo remains the focus of modern design thanks to the iconic structures surrounding it, including the London Eye and the BFI Imax. These days it is seen as an up-and-coming district for trendy businesses from a range of industries and is particularly popular among creative agencies, becoming somewhat of a creative hub.

The location

Located in the centre of bustling London, Waterloo attracts a number of young professionals who are looking to set up close to the West End and Westminster. The area itself is dominated by Waterloo Station, which offers easy access to the rest of London.

Waterloo is also the Central London terminus for South West Trains, providing the majority of commuter and regional services to South West London, Surrey, Hampshire, and Dorset. This attracts a lot of office occupiers who commute to Waterloo Station as well as those in surrounding London districts.

Surrounding buildings provide residents and businesses with a mixture of modern construction and Victorian architecture. This allows the area to maintain the industrial character it is known for. The district, located near the South Bank of the River Thames, also offers professionals a relaxing way to spend their break close to the water’s edge. Waterloo is connected to the Strand area on the North Bank of the River Thames by Waterloo Bridge.

Why choose Waterloo?

Waterloo is seen as one of the most affordable central areas in London. With a community dedicated to improving businesses in the area, it is now one of the most up-and-coming in the city. The area also has a lot of investment in education including BPP University, giving business access to top graduates on their doorstep. With excellent transport links to the rest of the UK, the area is also a great choice for businesses looking to commute from outside of London.
