Our Newbury hub is housed inside Shaw House, the largest Elizabethan manor house in Berkshire. Built in 1581 by Thomas Dolman, a wealthy Newbury cloth merchant, it’s one of the best-preserved examples of Elizabethan architecture in the South of England. The building played a notable role in the First Battle of Newbury during the English Civil War in 1643, when it served as a field hospital, and it later served strategic purposes during World War II. Restored in 2007, Shaw House is now a stunning Grade I listed venue and the backdrop to your working day at CoTribe. Working from a building steeped in centuries of history gives CoTribe Newbury a character and charm that a standard serviced office simply can’t replicate. Set in tranquil, landscaped surroundings, it offers the kind of calm, focused environment that genuinely helps you do your best work. Permitted access to Shaw House as agreed in the lease is from 8.00am-5.30pm Monday to Friday or other times as agreed with the House Manager during which the Property is open to members of the public. Coffee, tea and snacks can be purchased from the Shaw House on site cafe.
